From Words into Action

The Jewish Anti Zionist Congress (JAZIC) was born in 2024, with its first Congress in Vienna 2025 – a century after the first Zionist congress in Basel in 1897. It is a growing project, aiming to internationally connect anti-Zionist organizations, academics, civil society actors, as well as individuals–Jews and non-Jews–who are willing to analyze, discuss, connect and act to support the Palestinian struggle in Palestine and the diaspora.

The Jewish Anti-Zionist Congress, JAZiC jazic.org will convene in Dublin, Ireland on June 26-28th 2026. The text also appears in Gaelic.

Programme

The congress will include eight panels and multiple workshops, led by international speakers and activists from various academic, journalistic and civil society backgrounds. In light of the terrifying situation in Palestine, it will explore a range of critical themes and examine how political clarity can drive global action–highlighting the shift from solidarity to strategic collaboration.

We will review the historical and contemporary relevance of anti-Zionism in the broader liberation context, while examining the intersection of decolonization, restorative justice and the fight against imperial narratives. We will explore the complex relationship between Zionism, Western declining power, and the global political map and the environment, while considering how these affect our vision for a just future. An important aspect will be the intersectionality of the struggle to free Palestine, and the ubiquity of Gaza as an icon of freedom and resistance to Western imperialism. All panels will be plenary.

Workshops in smaller groups will address networking, sharing experience, mobilization and organizing; local and international Political action; Globalising the Intifada; working with Trades Unions and political groups and parties; Future visions; Academia and education; as well as media and communication.

Why Anti-Zionism?

The history, ideology and practice of Zionism leave us no choice but to resist - for all human rights’ activists,, humanists, non-patriarchal, feminist and anti-colonialists. There is no place for Zionism and its militarised settler colonialism, apartheid and genocide.

Zionism is a late-19th century colonial, racist ideology claimed as a solution to anti-Semitism in Europe. It chose violent settler-colonialism and imperial protection, through Western financial, military and political support. Zionism implemented a its aims by colonization, military occupation, apartheid, dispossession, ethnic cleansing and genocide of the indigenous population of Palestine. The Zionist project claims its self-determination through violently denying such rights to the indigenous Palestinians; no colonialising group has such rights - no rights for the Western occupier and colonizer!

As Jewish Anti-Zionists, we totally oppose Zionism - its theory, fake history, and violent, immoral and illegal practices. We oppose its hostile colonization of historical Judaism. We support the liberation of Palestine, the Return (Awda) of its refugees, and the building of a democratic, peaceful and just Palestinian polity with equal rights for all. Only the removal of Zionism and all its attributes will allow peace in the region.

We see ourselves as allies of the Palestinians in their liberation struggle for peace and historical justice, and for the removal of Western colonial vestiges. This struggle is an iconic one - “no one is free until Palestine is free”. This struggle requires organisation, international support, careful organisation and collective political spaces.

Declaration of the Jewish Anti-Zionist Congress

Vienna, 13–15 June 2025

The First Jewish Anti-Congress 2025 logo

Over 1,000 anti-Zionist Jews and non-Jews gathered in Vienna during three days of presentations and workshops at the Jewish Anti-Zionist Congress. While this was the first event of its kind in Europe, it has already set in motion the planning for a second congress in 2026.

We, speakers and organisers at the Congress, hereby issue this public call, reflecting the collective positions reached through the three days of deliberations.

Who is the Congress meant for?

Political, social, juridical and environmental organizations, activists, academics, students, media professionals and other individuals - from all backgrounds - who are interested in the theory and practice of addressing the major issues of our times–the Palestinian struggle for justice and liberation–via an anti-Zionist perspective.

Decolonise and de-Zionise!
